The writing diagnostic we did in class was some what difficult for me. I usually know exactly what to write about. and this time around it was a little more difficult for me to think about what to write about. I've always been a good writer, and somewhat of a good writer. When it came to the topic of discussing a time in my life where literacy was difficult for me, I couldn't think of anything. My mind went completely blank. Until I remembered taking my Spanish classes, and how difficult it was for me to attempt to learn another language. After brainstorming on what to write, I definitely have a lot of respect for the people that know more then one language. It is not only a hard process but also a wonderful gift.
Overall, it was very hard for me to write the essay, I felt blank and somewhat rushed. If I had the chance to d it all over again I would most likely had looked the prompt over before had and did some brainstorming on what would be a good approach to write this paper in. I do enjoy writing when it relates to interesting topics. When it relates to boring topics, i definitely push things off to the last minute, because I dread doing it. I know this is not the best way to go about boring topics. I know for a fact my papers would be a lot better if I took more time on doing them. But I feel as if there are so many rules and regulations in writing a good paper, and honestly.. it is really annoying!
When it comes to writing on spot, or taking more time, I feel it depends on the subject of what you are writing on. If your writing about something you are very confident and positive and know a lot about. I believe writing on the spot will have a better outcome. But when it comes to a topic one does not know much about, I believe taking out more time to look over the topic and set out a sturdy outline will benefit the paper. So to me it depends on the topic.
