Blog # 10

In English 101, I learned a lot. I learned about New Information and Old information which will help me tremendously in the future. I also learned TS/CD which is an amazing technique that will help me so much with my future papers. I also learned to not use "One" when talking about a person. I learned it is a cop out and is just like using "I" or "you". I also learned to always, always read over your paper. I also learned to how to properly cite and I will forever have owl at perdue under my favorites list on my computer.

Everything about the class made me feel better about my writing. I learned so much, that i really never knew before. I also learned a lot through the powerpoints. I learned what to do and what not to do, which will forever help me. It will help me next sememster and throughout my whole life. In the future with my writing I will always read over my papers, I will get a second opinion from a fellow student or a teacher, and I will always use TS/CD. Everything I learned this sememster will help me with the rest of my life. I never knew how to honestly really type a correct essay and now I do.

For my future I desire to be a Special Education teacher. To be a Special Education teacher, you require a lot of schooling. Throughout that schooling I know I will need to write papers. I will also have to write papers for scholarships or maybe even to look good at a job interview. Everything I learned I will use throughout my lifetime and I appriciate having such a great teacher who taught me such great things. Thank- You :-)

Blog # 9

I did not do the ad essay. I waited way to long and it is all my fault and I am mad at myself for it. But all i can tell myself is it is a life lesson learned and to never procrastinate again. I did choose an article in People. It was a Kohls add. In the ad was an adult mother and her daughter dressed in Christmas Atire with Christmas decorations around them. After reading what was soppose to be done for the advertisment paper I think a different article would have been easier for me to be able to explain. I did like the ad I used though and it did appeal to me. If I had the money I would go to Kohls and buy christmas appearl and some decorations. It was a good sale too! The sex appeal seems to work for me because when I see an ad for sexy clothes or good smelling perfume it just makes me want it. Advertisments have all different good appeals that are very intriging.

Blog # 8

Throughout this course I feel as if I have learned a lot about writing. I have learned the proper way to cite and I love love lovee TS/CD. I know this will help me tremendously in the future. Throughout this course I have learned a lot. I have learned and become a better writer.I learned how to comprehend, articulate and analyze the papers that I read and write.It is very important to comprehend what you are reading or else it is impossible to write a response. Understanding to analyze your paper is very important. It makes you a better writer. I have also learned many different skills throughout this course. From, old information to new information, to citing, to TS/CD. All these skills have helped me to become a better writer and to lengthen my papers. A very important thing I did learn is that writing is very important. I learned that without writing and understanding writing one will not get very far. I know a lot of things I learned through this course I will forever use.

Resume

The resume is going very well. I enjoy writing resume's because it reminds me of a lot of my accomplishments and strives me to do good. I know that by writing this resume it will help me in the future. I am so thankful that you handed out a packet because it helped to be more organized and to put my resume together. Since this is not the first time I have had to write an resume, it is somewhat of an easy task for me. I haven't written a resume since Junior year so writing a more recent one is definitely going to be beneficial for my future. Overall I have no questions or obligations and I am actually enjoying completing my resume.

Humor and Style

When I think about humor, the first thing that comes to my mind is laughter. Laughter and smiles. When hearing humor I think of a number of things from movies, to comedians, to t.v shows, to music, to friends, to a joke i heard earlier, to my brother, to myself, to my teachers...etc. When something is very funny it is impossible to not laugh out loud. Honestly, laughing is one of the most fun things to do, in my eyes anyways.

After reading the cocaine article, I thought it was funny. I guess it really depends on who you are and what you agree and disagree with. I absolutely thought the article was funny. I think cocaine is disgusting and drug dealers, kind of disgust me even more.. i mean get a real job you fricken loser! ha. Anyways I thought it was very funny at the fact that the police set this guy up and then continued to watch him and hear him talk about how hes so f*cked and him not knowing the whole time he was being set up. Come on now, how much of an idiot are you?.. Obviously a pretty big one since your a loser drug dealer! Ha i crack myself up sometimes.

Style to me is one's own way of expressing themselves. When I think of style I think of music, the way someone sings or raps. I think of art, the way an artists paints or what their paintings usually portray. I also think of plenty different individuals and the way they dress and how they act. Also when style comes to mind I think about the way each and every individual writes and what style they go by to write a good paper.

Essay # 3

For Essay Number three the readings were some what difficult and boring. To me, I believe it is hard to write a paper on a topic that is not enjoyable to the writer. It was difficult to get started because honestly, I did not know where to start or where to begin. The TS/CD was very very very helpful for this essay. After finally starting the essay it became easier and easier. It is a little bit more easier to write a compare and contrast essay than the other essays we have done so far. After getting started of course. Especially when you know what you are comparing  and contrasting. In the end it depends a lot on the audience and the writer themselves.

Essay # 2

Writing essay two was somewhat difficult. Reading three different essays and trying to find what makes them a like was somewhat of a hard task for me. At times it got boring and very frustrating. I believe it was difficult because it was hard to point out what was a like in the three essays. It was very very very very hard to site them. I know I did not do my citations right. Frankly I do not understand why it has to be so darn difficult! I even attempted to look in my book and go to OWL but it just didn't work out for me. After going to the computer lab in class and you showing us how to properly cite, I feel as if I have a better understanding on citing and that for essay # 3 my citing will be a lot better if not perfect.

In essay #2 I did use TS/CD. I think I did a very good job at using TS/CD. I'm hoping I receive a better grade than i did on essay #1.I believe that TS/CD did work for me and my paper. I really believe it helps a lot to write a good paper. Even though it takes more time and planning, I still believe it is a very good approach in writing a good paper. I will be usuing it in my next paper and hopefully i'll do even a better job.
